Our Whakatauki

“Poipoia te kākano kia puawai”
Nurture the seed and it will blossom

Our school whakatauki is about our learners as they make their way through our school and prepare for high school. Our philosophy is that if we provide a nurturing environment for our learners then the will reach their potential.

Our different learning communities of the school are named after the different stages of the tree growing into a mighty totara.

Mātātipu – the first shoot (Year 0-1)

Kōhuri – the sapling (Year 2-3)

Māhuri – the young tree (Year 4-6)

Puawai – the blossom (Year 7-8)
